Wedding Hen Night Stag Night Low Key

Traditionally Hen and Stag nights tend to be outrageous, alcohol fuelled and often embarrassing. This can, of course, be a lot of fun but it isn’t always necessary and throwing a more low key party can be more fun for all involved.

The Purpose of Your Party

The reason that you throw a party of this sort is to have a night of fun before the wedding. Traditionally the bride goes out with her female friends and the groom goes out with his male friend to celebrate one last night of freedom before spending the rest of their lives together. This has changed quite a lot over the years and it is not unlikely to see bride and groom go out together and share their hen and stag night.

Who Goes on the Hen/Stag Night?

Call up your closest and dearest friends, those you can trust not to embarrass you and those that you know are going to show you a brilliant time. Friends should be those who understand what you want out of your hen/stag night and will usually be those who are part of the wedding party. This includes, bridesmaids, maids of honour, the best man and friends of the bride and groom as well as your nearest and dearest who you know you enjoy going out with.

Where to go on the Hen/Stag Night

Location certainly depends on the sort of party you want. If you choose to go out for a meal with your closest friends then this is going to be a lot lower key than a night out clubbing. It depends on your individual tastes and what you wish to get out of the night, if you don’t go clubbing and generally don’t enjoy it then don’t choose a club as the venue for your Hen or Stag night as you won’t enjoy it. A simple house party is a good way to stay in your comfort zone whilst indulging in good food and alcohol with your friends.

If you do choose to go clubbing then treat it as any other night out but with that extra special feeling that you will be getting married very soon. There isn’t always the need to dress up and announce the fact that you are a bride or groom to be because you can have just as much fun without the added attention.

Activities for the Hen/Stag Night

It is the Hen night that is more known for its games and activities kits, these usually include veils, learner badges and dares and can be bought from most high street shops as well as online. They can’t always be tasteful and once again it is down to you and what you deem fun, there are varying levels of tastefulness when it comes to these kits so if you do want one to spice up your night shop around and get one most suited to you and your guests.

Generally it is the best man/head bridesmaid that organises the activities for the night out, if you are somewhat nervous about what they are going to lumber you with then speak to them and let them know what you do and do not want at your party. After all it is a night for you to have fun on, celebrate with your friends and remember the next day!
